Situation :
Some time, you need to know when user request when they key in one text field let say "Target Description" field, then they press TAB key, then "Detail" and "Summary" field will automatically in 'read only'. That means, we cannot type in the "Detail" and "Summary" fields when we type in the 'Target Description' fields.
We can do this by doing the following step:
- There are three application tab involve in this tutorial, and that is:
- Application Designer.
- Services Requests
- Conditional Expression Manager.
- Navigate to Application Designer:
- Type in "SR" in the application search text field and press "Enter". Then click on "SR" link to navigate to the Services Request.
- Click on "Drop Down Image" at the Navigation bar.
- On "Add/Modify Signature Option" screen. Click on New Row:
- Fill in the required field and leave untick at E-Signature Enable. Then Click "OK" button.
- Now, we need to know the id that used by the fields in the selected field. In this case we use "Target Description" field. Note that, we cannot view the id in Application Designer, but we can view the field id buy press ALT+F1. Now Navigate to the Service Request Screen first.
- Click on the "Service Request" tab.
- Click on the new Service Request icon to create new request.
- Click on the target description field, than press ALT+F1. Field Help screen will appear. Than hightlight on the "TARGETDESC" and press CTRL+C to copy the word. Then click "OK" button.
- Now, we need to set the Conditional Expression. Navigate to "Go to" > Administration > Conditional Expression Manager.
- Click on "New Row" button at the bottom of the screen.
- After that, Fill all the required fields, and tick on "Always Evaluate" check box. At the Expression, type the following :TARGETDESC is not null.
- Then, click on the "Save" icon.
- Now, Go back to Application Designer. Navigate to "Go to" > System Configuration > Platform Configuration > Application Designer.
- Click on the field that you want to have readonly field after "Target Description" field is been fill. For example, i click on "Detail" field. Then, click on the Control Properties.
- Fill the Signature Option with "MYSIG2" that we have created before, then click on "Configure Conditional Properties".
- On Configure Conditional Properties, Click on Select Group.
- On Select Group Screen, click on Filter link, Type in "EVERYONE" at the search box and press "Enter". Then tick at the "EVERYONE" checkbox, and click "OK" button.
- At the Conditional section, click on "Select Condition" button.
- At the Select Condition screen, click on "Filter", type in "check" and press "Enter". Then tick at the "CHECKMYSIG" check box, and click on "OK" button.
- Then click on "Enter Property" button. At the property field, type in "inputmode" and type in "readonly" at the Value field.
- At the Configure conditional screen, click on "OK" button.
- At Application Designer, Click on "Save" icon.
