Tutorial 6 - How to Start IBM TSRM Maximo


Situation : If you need to start Maximo Apps from your own. Usually when we configure what configure workflow we don't have to start the maximo because it is already started. But, how if you need to start the maximo application server by yourself?

Now, follow the step below to Start IBM Maximo from scratch. 

Before you strat maximo on your laptop, please check the minimum spec required to run IBM Maximo below:

1) Hardware and Software Requirement:

Intel base processor Windows XP, Windows Vista, Window 7
3GB Ram Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 6 or 7 browser or newer verison
SVGA 1024 x 768 resolution Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® 6.0 or 7.0 or newer verison
Note: The Maximo Workflow Designer requires a Java™ Runtime Environment (currently supported are JRE® 1.4.2 through JRE 1.5). The Workflow Designer checks for the JRE on the administrative workstation. If it does not find the JRE, Workflow Designer prompts you to install JRE 1.4.2-b28.


2) After you meet all the requirement for your Laptop. Now you need to have VMware install in your PC.

Please download and install VMWARE from here. At the Desktop & End-User Computing, Choose VMware WorkStation. And choose to download.

3) Make sure you already have VMware Image that already installed with IBM Maximo as shwon below:



4) Now, start your VMware, Open Command Prompt.


5) We need to start the Domain Manager First, followed by Start Node, and AppServer.

on the command prompt, type :

cd ibm\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\ctgDmgr01\bin\

then type in in the Bold:

c:\ibm\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\ctgDmgr01\bin>startManager.bat

6) After that, we need to start "Start Node".

on the command prompt, type :

C:\ibm\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\ctgDmgr01\bin>cd..
c:\ibm\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\ctgDmgr01>cd..
c:\ibm\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles>cd ctgAppSrv01
c:\ibm\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\ctgAppSrv01>cd bin
c:\ibm\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\ctgAppSrv01\bin>startNode.bat

7) Then, we need to start AppServer.

on the command prompt, type:

c:\ibm\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\ctgAppSrv01\bin>startServer.bat MXServer


8) Next, we have to check the server status, either the server is running or not.

on the command prompt, type:

C:\ibm\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\ctgAppSrv01\bin>serverStatus.bat -all
